Marchfest, Dead Good Beer Event
17 April 2010, Noon - 9.30pm, Founders Heritage Park,, Nelson
MarchFest is moving to April but keeping the name MarchFest - well, why not? The Munich Oktoberfest is actually in September so there is a precedent for our quirkyness.
The theme for MARCHFeST 2010 is 'creation' - to celebrate the creative acts of making beer, wine, food as well as great music. We may also be creating our own electricity!
This MARCHFeST will present TEN NEW CRAFT BEERS created especially for the event by TEN different craft breweries in the top of the south. This aspect alone makes MARCHFeST a unique event in New Zealand.
Acts already booked for 2010 include Don McGlashan, The Eastern, Carmen Salvador Band from Chile, The Immigrants, Ras Judah and Daham and the La Vida String Quartet..
Set in the beautiful, traffic-free environment of Nelson's Founders Heritage Park, MarchFest is Nelson's hip harvest hop festival celebrating craft beers, regional wines, slow food and eclectic music.
The 2010 MarchFest will be weatherproof – all activity areas have the potential to be sheltered from sun, wind or rain. Cool stuff for kids and families too!
MarchFest is geared towards people who make informed choices about their food, drink, musical taste and want to attend a family-friendly event, which is safe, fun and a bit different to the run-of-the-mill festival. An event for people who want to savour.. not just consume!
