Another chance to take portraiture class

A VISUAL arts workshop that was due to be held in September has been rescheduled for the end of this month. Organised by Gisborne Artists’ Society, the session aims to tackle the vexing problem of portraiture . . . how to get the proportions perfect, the likeness, the mood, and to adequately portray the essence of the subject. And to help the Society has engaged
local artist/teacher Jacqui Kay to run the workshop.

With just pencils, paper, a ruler and some rubbers required, it will be a back-to-basics opportunity to learn about the artform, says workshop co-ordinator Kath McLaughlin, herself an experienced portrait artist.

The portraiture workshop will be on at Lysnar House (adjacent to Tairawhiti Museum) on Sunday, October 30 (9am-4pm). Non-society members welcome. For details contact Kath
McLaughlin, 867-5366.
